The Place of your Call!

Nehemiah 2:11 “I told no one what God had put into my heart to do for Jerusalem.”

Nehemiah was called to a specific place to exercise his calling. You are as well. Acts 17:26 says that God has determined the allotted periods and boundaries of your dwelling places. The time and place of your existence is no accident. You could have been born anywhere and be living anywhere in the world but God has determined the boundaries of your dwelling places.

Never let your emotions make you walk away from the place God binds you to in your Spirit. The Apostle Paul said, “I am bound in the Spirit to Jerusalem.” Paul knew that suffering was awaiting him in Jerusalem but he knew he needed to go and give witness of his faith in Christ in the specific city of Jerusalem.

God designed the garden of Eden for Adam and Eve to live and work in but after they rebelled against God, God said to Adam, ‘Where are you?’ In other words ‘I designed a place for you to fulfill your calling but you are out of place’. Selfishness and sin can drive a wedge between us and the place God’s actually designed for us to express our call. God said to Elijah, ‘What are you doing here?’ Elijah the prophet had just called down fire from heaven and killed 450 prophets of Baal on Mt Carmel but now he is hiding away in a cave in fear for his life. Elijah’s calling was never meant to be holed up in a cave but delivering a nation.

There is a right place for your call to be expressed and when you connect to it, don’t let emotions, circumstances, issues or distractions take you away from the place of your call.
