Your call will be tested! At age 17 Joseph received a prophetic dream concerning his future but after the dream, he went through years of his call being tested. His prophecy had to be tested before the promise could come to pass. Often we think because we have received a prophetic word, it will automatically come to pass but the prophecy will be tested.
In those testing times it will feel like the call isn’t going to come to pass because contradiction will be everywhere. It’s in these times that you need to remind yourself of what God has spoken and continue to walk by faith and not by sight. People, family, friends and workmates may not honour or approve of the calling. You may be falsely accused, like Joseph was. You may feel imprisoned by your circumstances and forgotten by those who have influence to make things happen but you are not forgotten by God. God’s favor will be seen again in your life and ministry.
The call will be tested before it comes into fulness. God hasn’t changed his mind about your call. We change our minds because we give up too soon but we must allow God to bring us through the testing of our call. God is doing things we cannot see. There’s a greater level of anointing and authority waiting for you if you come through the furnace of affliction without the lingering smell of bitterness and offense.
Why is the call tested? To prove it and mature it so we become the chosen of the Lord. Isaiah 48:10 says “I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” The word tested in this verse means, ‘chosen and selected from the choicest.’ As we go through the furnace of testing and respond appropriately, God chooses us as selected ones on the earth for our assignment.
Isaiah 43:2 says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you.”
