2 Timothy 1:7 For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control.
Rare is the person who lives with no fear. Even the boldest person can wrestle with fear deep in their souls. Unfortunately, we aren’t always aware of the fears we actually have until the right occasion brings it to the surface of our hearts and minds. The worst kind of fear is the one that literally drives our behaviour and controls our choices in life without us even realizing it. Some of the common fears that fit into this category consist of fear of rejection, fear of failure and fear of loss. When confronted with the reality of our fear, confession is the gateway to victory over it. Secondly, we need to repent (change of mind) and renew our minds with Gods truth about life in him and lastly, we need to take captive every thought that would seek to cripple us back into the cage of fear. Most of the time our fears are simply false expectation appearing real. God hasn’t given you a spirit of fear but his perfect love casts out all fear. Fear originates from the brokenness of our fallen nature and the painful circumstances we’ve experienced in our past. Through a process of deconstructing your fears and reconstructing your faith, you can walk in total victory over your fear.
